POFF ELEMENTARY - PPA
Poff Parents Association through several fundraisers is able to provide our children and teachers with supplies, enrichment funds, valuable resources and great activities throughout the year. There are so many ways you can help! Listed below are just a few ways you can get involved with the PPA. Attend PPA meetings and share your thoughts. New ideas are always welcomed.

Membership Drive: We collect $5.00 from each family at the beginning of the school year. This helps us get started with early school year projects such as the school directory, summer reading programs and more.

Volunteers: During the school year there are times when parents are needed to help with various activities / programs such as; Picture Day, Poff Papers, Library, Art Room, Talent Show, Yearbook, Garden Club ,Field Day, Reward Programs, Directory, After School Programs, etc...

Homeroom Parent: A volunteer from each classroom arranges the classroom party teams, as well as activates the phone chain for that classroom when necessary.

Hospitality: The PPA sponsors a "Welcome Back" breakfast at the beginning of the year, and a "Staff Appreciation Luncheon" at the end of year. Volunteers are needed to provide salads, hot dishes, desserts, baked goods etc...

Refreshments: Volunteers are needed to bake for different PPA events, and PPA meeting.

Book Fair: This annual event is very popular at Poff. A selection of books and software are placed on display providing the opportunity for students, parents and teachers to purchase books. The committee which consists of three people is responsible for organizing the Fair, scheduling volunteers, and facilitating the teacher's wish list program. The Fair is held two times per year, usually January and May.

Bingo: This annual event has also become very popular. It's a great night for all families to get together and have some fun. The coordinator needs three people to help with soliciting for prizes and auction items, working the concession stand, and getting volunteers to work the Bingo.

Market Day: The chairperson of this committee is responsible for distribution of brochures, and getting volunteers to work one Friday per month, unloading and sorting food items purchased.

Poff Mart: Once a week, a school store is set up outside the cafeteria for the students to purchase school supplies and other items following their lunch period. Volunteers are needed to purchase items and staff the store.

Sally Foster: Held in September. The selection of holiday, and all-occasion gift wraps, cards and gifts makes it easy for friends and family to stock up! The committee sends out and collects forms, and distributes items when they arrive.

Sarris Candy: This fall Fund Raiser is delicious. With lots of great candies to choose from right before the holidays, makes this one of our biggest money makers. Volunteers send out pamphlets and places the orders.

Ice Cream Social, Movie Night; Holiday Shop, Talbot Tailgate, Entertainment Books, etc...
